Who Am I...

Lisa Snowdon

is a Nutritionist with over a decade of clinical experience. She specialises in digestive disorders like IBS, SIBO and IBD plus weight loss through dietary and lifestyle changes. Lisa runs a virtual nutrition clinic as well as online programs that deliver the practical advice about how to work out what foods work for you and what foods don't to be healthy and feel great. Considered by many as the greatest medicine of all, food has an incredible propensity to heal and enhance well-being.  In many cases only small changes to diet are needed to effect major results. Lisa focuses on these small changes with the biggest impact to get her clients results.

Why I Had to Develop This Program

Every day, I hear from clients struggling with their IBS symptoms

Either they have urgency and need to know where the nearest bathrooms are; have the misery of chronic constipation or they suffer the discomfort of excessive bloating and that pregnant belly look (even the men).

If they are the lucky ones their doctor has recommended they try a low FODMAP diet. However, they were given little guidance and on investigating it just seems too overwhelming.

Even worse there are those that have suffered IBS symptoms for many years and have been told either it's all in their  head or they'll just have to put up with it.

You see, IBS and digestive symptoms are very common, but that doesn't mean they are normal. This is where implementing the steps comes in.

IBS develops in as many as 1 in 5 Australians at some point in their lifetime

I've heard from so many clients that it has been suggested they follow the low FODMAP diet BUT IT SEEMED TOO HARD.

Some have already tried it but they didn't follow it properly so they don't really know if it works for them or not. Plus, if they didn't reintroduce the food groups and set their personalisation plan they set themselves up to fail.

Many people know stress impacts their symptoms but don't implement strategies known to help. This can be a game changer.

Because we are so resourceful, we often go online to find information and motivation that we need to recover, relieve the diarrhoea, reduce bloating, and manage constipation. We noticed that much of the information that is available either costs a fortune, is simply inaccurate, or provides a list of recommendations without an opportunity for exchange of knowledge, motivation, and support.

In an effort to regain our gut health, we can get sucked into buying expensive supplements that make no difference or even make us  feel worse. Following common dietary advice for the gut like "eat fermented foods", "increase your fibre intake", "take this (non-specific) probiotic. Depending on what's going on with your gut (IBS, SIBO, Candida, GORD etc), and your symptoms, these types of general recommendations may cause more harm than good.

Testing and supplements are very helpful for some people but just not necessary for others. Knowing what your options are and when they are most helpful can save you so much time.

The final step so often missed but actually the most important step in rebalancing your gut is Optimising Your Microbiome. This is where we restore your good bacteria and ensure your bowels are moving well to keep your symptoms away.

As many as 1 in 5 Australians will develop IBS at some point in their lifetime, and it's twice as common in women as it is in men. That is 20 percent of people in Australia. There is a large group of people that have shared a similar experience with bloating and less than ideal bowel movements.

So, I set out on A MISSION: To help as many IBS sufferers as possible, that experience these issues, find a path to restoring their gut function.

And that's when I finally put the system I've been using with my one-on-one clients into this program.
